I have proudly been with The Law Center since 1986 and have exclusively practiced Social Security law my entire legal career. I received my Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from Michigan State University and my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. I have litigated over ten thousand cases across the state and am familiar with the intricate Social Security laws. I have lectured and published for the State Bar Institute for Continuing Education in the field of Social Security law. During my decades of service to the disabled, I have taken on the most challenging cases. I am active in litigating cases in Federal District Court for the Eastern and Western Division and the Federal 6th Circuit Court of Appeals which has resulted in a number of federal court reversals and published cases. I am a current board member for the Michigan State Bar Social Security section (and past chair) and am very involved in educating lawyers and helping set policy in the area of Social Security law. I also write a blog which addresses Social Security issues. Being in private litigation for 30 years, and having handled so many social security cases, I am not only passionate about Social Security issues but have a wealth of knowledge as to how a Social Security case should proceed and what is needed to successfully accomplish the goal of successfully adjudicating a case.
